Man Charged For Kidnapping And Beating Ex-Girlfriend
Loris, SC – A Loris man was arrested Saturday after police say he kidnapped and assaulted his ex-girlfriend last week.
The victim called Horry County police to a home on Watts Road in Loris. She told officers her ex-boyfriend, William Earl Hemingway, 36, had snuck into her house while she was sleeping, put a towel over her mouth to keep her from screaming and pulled her out of the bedroom. She said Hemingway dragged her about 20 yards down a wooden path, stopped, then choked and punched her in the face and ribs.
The victim said Hemingway then dragged her behind an abandoned home because a car had driven by. She said he put a pocket knife to her throat and threatened to kill her if she made a sound. The victim also told police Hemingway made her call and breakup with her current boyfriend.
After she hung up the phone, the woman said she hit Hemingway in the head with a stick and ran home where she called 911….
