Anthony Nicholas Orban faces kidnapping and rape charges in the attack on a 25-year-old waitress who was abducted while leaving work. Opening statements in the case were scheduled to begin Monday morning in a Rancho Cucamonga courtroom.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff is looking for a man who is riding a bike and attacking girls on the way to the school bus.

Three attacks happened Wednesday morning, including on a 17-year old-girl who talked with Local 4.

She said a strange man grabbed her from behind.

“He came up and then he went like this (hand over mouth) and told me don’t move but I end up biting his finger,” the girl told Local 4.

Her dad, Mario Love, got into his car and went on the hunt.

“I seen a guy on a bike. And I went past the street and turned around. That’s when he seen me and then he took off through one of the houses,” he said…

Arnoldo Jiminez, 30, of Chicago, is wanted for the murder of his 26-year-old bride Estrella Carrera. Police believe she was killed just hours after a Friday afternoon civil ceremony at the Cook County Courthouse.

Carrera’s body was found Sunday afternoon by police after her family alerted authorities that she had not picked up her children on time from her sister’s house. She had multiple stab wounds and was found in a silver sequined cocktail dress in the dry bathtub, police said.

A manhunt is now under way for the 6-foot, 220-pound Jiminez, who was last known to be driving a 2006 black Maserati. Burbank police said they have no record of employment for Jiminez, and have no idea how he got a $120,000 car.

“It definitely raises questions,” said Capt. Joe Ford. “We can’t find any employment (record). It’s a very expensive car, and he has no record of income.”

Ford said that it’s likely Jiminez has ditched the car in an effort to escape police…

The Franklin County verdict for Caron (Kah-RAHN’) Montgomery of Columbus is the first in the county in a decade and also a relatively rare case of a death penalty verdict following a guilty plea.

The panel will formally sentence Montgomery to death May 22.

The 38-year-old Montgomery pleaded guilty earlier this month to multiple counts of aggravated murder and single counts of murder and domestic violence.

Police found Tia Hendricks and her 2-year-old and 10-year-old children stabbed to death inside Hendricks’ Columbus apartment the day after Thanksgiving 2010.

Antonio Cuyler, 40, was being held in the Summit County Jail on charges of domestic violence, child endangering and unlawful restraint.

According to police and court records, Cuyler and the woman were in the 300 block of West Miller Street when they became involved in a verbal altercation. At some point, police said Cuyler stopped her from exiting the car and punched her in the face several times.

Cuyler then pushed the woman to the ground while she was holding their 16-month-old child, police said. The woman was treated for facial injuries…

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County sex offender was arrested Friday after beating his wife to death, according to a police report.

Police said Guillermo W. Cardona, 44, hit and kicked his 25-year-old wife in the stomach in a home in the Conway neighborhood of Orange County on Thursday night.

Investigators said Cardona noticed that his wife, Jennifer, did not wake up on Friday morning, but he did not call for help until about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

According to a police report, Cardona fled the home with his infant daughter. He returned to the home about 10 p.m. and was arrested by police.

Cardona’s wife died due to blunt force trauma to the stomach, according to a police report. She had previous injuries that were in the process of healing, indicating she had previously been abused, according to the report…

Walter Trommer Morrison Jr., 23, of 344 N. Nulton Ave., was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and harassment in a dispute at his father’s home on April 23.

He was arraigned by District Judge Jacqueline Taschner on Monday.

According to Palmer Township Police Officer Todd Lohman, Morrison’s father, Walter Sr., told police that he had been assaulted by his son after intervening in an argument his son was having with his girlfriend.

He said the couple live in his basement.

The father told police that his son appeared to be intoxicated and began a physical confrontation with the father and girlfriend Sierra M. Griswold, who is eight months pregnant.

Griswold told police that the argument started because Morrison was drinking beer, a violation of his probation.

She poured the beer out, they argued and Morrison allegedly told Griswold that he was going to “kill you and the baby,” she told police.

Griswold told police that Morrison wrapped his arm around her throat from behind, causing her not to be able to breathe for several seconds.

After she freed herself and tried to head up the stairs, Griswold said, Morrison grabbed her, pulled her down the stairs and then was on top of her stomach with his arms wrapped around her mid-section, court records state….

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City woman escaped a home invasion unharmed after she fatally shot an intruder.

Police say two armed men broke into a home on the 5800 block of Garfield on Monday afternoon, tied up a woman who was there alone and locked her into a closet. They then went looking around the house for her boyfriend.

The woman was able to break free, grab a gun that was in the closet and shoot one of the alleged assailants. When police arrived, they found him in the front yard. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they believe Estrella Carrera, 25, was a victim of domestic violence after she was discovered at her home in the Burbank area of Chicago.

Her family said she got married on Friday to the father of her youngest child. She had two children aged two and eight.

Two cousins said Carrera didn’t tell many people about the wedding, and simply called on the day to invite them to the party.

Her cousin Jaime Lopez said: “This just happened out of nowhere. It was so fast I couldn’t even make to the celebration.”

Sandy Lopez, another cousin, said she seemed happy on the phone, but for some reason “she didn’t want to tell me she had gotten married.”

According to her family the victim, who worked as a Spanish language translator, had an on-again, off-again relationship for about three years with the man she married.

She was last seen about 2am on Saturday as the festivities for the wedding wound down. She was supposed to pick up her children from her father on Saturday afternoon but never made contact.

When her family checked her home there was no answer and her car was gone. Police discovered her body on Sunday afternoon. She had been stabbed multiple times and was found in an empty bath. She had applied for a wedding licence on May 2.

The girl initially was reported missing by her mother early in the morning of Feb. 26, and officers eventually found her with her pants and underwear inside out in a vacant apartment in the Blair Mill Village East Apartments, Upper Moreland police said.

Markley Charles, 24, of East Dorset Street, is charged with raping the unconscious girl and numerous sex offenses including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault and providing alcohol to a minor. Charles was arrested Feb. 28 and is in Montgomery County Prison on $250,000 bail.

Dana Harding, 18, of Hatboro, and Charles’ brother Roubins Charles, 25, of Philadelphia, have been charged in connection with the party, which was held in a vacant apartment, according to court records. Both are awaiting trial on charges of burglary, trespassing and providing alcohol to minors. Harding was released on her own recognizance after her arrest while Charles was released after posting $5,000 bail.

According to court records, the girl’s mother reported her daughter missing about 1:15 a.m. Feb. 26. Police searched the Blair Mill Village East Apartments at 2855 Blair Mill Road and found the girl in apartment 220G, according to court records. She was unconscious, extremely intoxicated and had her pants and underwear on inside-out, police said. She told them she could not remember where she’d been. A sexual assault exam was conducted by a nurse at Abington Memorial Hospital and evidence of an abrasion was found, according to court records.

The victim told police she remembered going to a party at apartment 240P where she drank at least four cups of alcohol and fell down the steps, according to court records. She remembered being in another apartment with a man she didn’t know. According to court records, she said he told her that, “’he needed to leave because he did not want to get in trouble as a result of being older than her.’”

She said the next thing she remembered was being woken by police. She told police that she did not consent to sex with anyone at the party.

Harding told police that she, a male friend and a man she didn’t know carried the 15-year-old from the party at 240P to a vacant apartment at 220G where another party was being held, according to court records. Police said Harding told them they left the girl on the floor of the apartment’s unfurnished bedroom, covered by a sweater. Harding said she later returned to the bedroom and saw the girl was naked from the waist down, according to court records. Police said she told them that she then left the party.

Investigators interviewed another man who’d been at the party in 220G and opened the bedroom door to find a man with his pants down in the room with the victim, according to court records. Police said they later identified that man as Markley Charles.
